Art of the Game Billboard Competition 2007 Winner
A Celebration of Baseball in Pittsfield 2006-2007
Monday, May 7, 2007, community members and artists enjoyed the unveiling of the Art Of The Game Billboard Art Show winners at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, in downtown Pittsfield! The work of the winning artists will be displayed larger than life on billboards throughout the county in the summer of 2007!
Pittsfield Mayor James Ruberto, Mary Rentz and others celebrated the creativity of these artists from all over the county in celebrating Pittsfields unique place in baseball history.
Art Of The Game, a two-year Public Art Project in Pittsfield, MA, celebrates the citys rich, first baseball heritage, and launches a permanent First Home Plate memorial leading to an ongoing baseball cultural presence in Pittsfield.
Art Of The Game underscores Pittsfields Garden of Eden role in baseball dating from its 1791 Ordinance through the present. Art of the Game billboards and banners will appear throughout the Pittsfield region during the spring and summer of 2007 to celebrate the city's mix of baseball heritage and artistic community as a creative, economic catalyst for growth.
