Eastern Design Students create
Billboards &
T-shirts
to support Windham's groundbreaking Spay & Neuter Ordinance
ECSU Design Group Students have designed billboards, posters and t-shirts to publicize Windham’s recently adopted spay and neuter ordinance and raise money for the cause.

Windham is the first city in Connecticut to take this compassionate step to manage and reduce its stray cat population.
The ordinance, passed by the town under the leadership of Joan Lamont of C.A.T.S.Northeast, seeks to improve the quality of life in the Windham/Willimantic community, stating that all cats over the age of six months must be spayed or neutered unless the owner buys a breeder's license.
Once the ordinance was passed, Ms. Lamont contacted the ECSU Design Group for help in getting information on spay and neuter assistance to the public. In response, the Design Group, designed colorful billboards & posters proclaiming:
“Windham Takes Responsibility
for Spay & Neuter Assistance call 860-942-9676 or CATSNortheast.org.”

The students have also created signed t-shirts the sale of which will help support Spay & Neuter assistance for responsible pet owners. Lamont continues working on expanding opportunities for low-cost spaying and neutering to meet the demand from the community.

The Connecticut Humane Society, Bob Brown of Standish Johnson Advertising and P.A.W.S honoring Beacon Pharmacy's many contributions, have helped to sponsor this project. Their support has made it possible to deliver important information about the ordinance to the people of Windham/Willimantic.
