June Bisantz, visual artist and musician, received her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Claremont Graduate University in California.
Bisantz has been performing and writing music for over 20 years, and has co-written and produced several albums of original jazz, all of which received national attention. She has recorded with distinguished jazz and pop musicians such as Steve Swallow, Bob Moses, Lou Soloff and Will Lee. Reviews and articles about her work include People Magazine, USA Today, Downbeat Magazine, Jazziz Magazine, New York Newsday, the Boston Herald, the Hartford Courant, the Hartford Advocate and the New York Native. Her new release “Let’s Fall in Love” is music for anyone who is, or longs to be, in love. This romantic collection of ballads is inspired by the work of legendary jazz singer and musician Chet Baker and sung by Bisantz Evans in a voice that is “pure honey, consistently clear and strong and smoky when needed.” Hartford Advocate “Let’s Fall in Love” includes favorites from the era of cocktail jazz and breathless ballads including “My Funny Valentine”, “Come Rain or Come Shine”, “I’ve Never Been in Love Before” and “Imagination.” The CD features Alex Nakhimsovsky on piano, Norman Johnson on guitar, Genevieve Rose on bass, Greg Caputo on drums and Gabor Viragh on trumpet and flugelhorn. |
