Puttin' On The Ritz
June Bisantz & Gordon Morrell
June Loves Fred, is a project-in-progress celebrating the vocal work of the great Fred Astaire. The selected tunes are done in an eclectic style, combining genres like jazz, Latin and Western swing to bring a fresh perspective to these iconic melodies. Puttin' On The Ritz is an complex blend of Western Swing and Jazz and Night and Day is done in a sensual Cuban style, both tunes featuring the smoothly blended vocals of June Bisantz and Gordon Morrell.

Bisantz & Morrell's recent release, It's Been a Long, Long Time celebrated their enduring musical partnership and friendship. Recorded remotely, June on the East Coast and Gordon on the West, the pair relied on their long-time collaboration to get the harmonies smooth and tight while never being in the same place at the same time. The result of this successful collaboration - a Global Music Award in 2023 and an Elite Music Award in 2024 - is this new musical endeavor, June Love's Fred.

In addition to the stellar West Coast lineup of recording artists and engineers supporting this project, the recording will include Bisantz' long time musical partner, internationally renowned pianist/composer/arranger Alex Nakhimovsky along with other East Coast musicians, which will make the project truly bi-coastal.
June and Alex met in the early 2000's, began recording together in 2005 (the Chet Baker Project) and continued recording and performing together, including 4 tours of Japan. In 2018 they recorded Love's Tango, a collection of original Latin Jazz (music, Nakhimovsky/lyrics, Bisantz). This successful collaboration won 3 international awards: a Global Music Award, 2024; World Songwriting Award, 2024, Clouzine International Music Award, 2025).
Plans for June Loves Fred include iconic Fred Astaire vocal tunes such as S'Wonderful, Dancing in the Dark, and Change Partners. Each will be done in a different musical genre, united by Bisantz and Morrell's signature vocal harmonies and Nakhimovsky and Bisantz' Latin Jazz and Classical influenced style.
